GW085 – Aircraftsman Lawrence
Before he became immortalised as “Lawrence of Arabia,” T. E. Lawrence served in the British Army during the Arab Revolt and became closely associated with the campaign against Ottoman forces in the Middle East.
Less commonly remembered is his later decision to enlist anonymously in the Royal Air Force under the name John Hume Ross, and subsequently serve in the ranks after his wartime fame had made him an international celebrity.
GW085 – Aircraftsman Lawrence explores this unusual later chapter of Lawrence's life rather than portraying him in his familiar Arab Revolt clothing.
Available through The Military Workshop – a fascinating Thomas Gunn portrayal of T. E. Lawrence in one of the lesser-known periods of his remarkable life.
