GW104 – King George V
King George V reigned throughout the First World War, becoming an important symbol of continuity for Britain and its Empire during four years of unprecedented conflict.
During the war the King regularly visited troops, hospitals, factories and naval installations and travelled to the Western Front on several occasions. In 1917, amid strong anti-German sentiment, the royal family changed its dynastic name from Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to Windsor.
GW104 – King George V provides a natural centrepiece for a royal visit, inspection or formal gathering of British and Commonwealth troops.
Available through The Military Workshop – a distinguished Thomas Gunn portrayal of King George V during one of the defining periods of his reign.
