ROMBYZ003A - Imperial Guardsman with Red Chi Ro Shield

The reign of Emperor Constantine marked a turning point in Roman history, as Christianity moved from a persecuted faith to a recognised and influential part of imperial society. This transformation was reflected not only in politics and culture but also in the symbols carried by Roman soldiers.

Elite imperial guards continued the proud traditions of earlier Roman military units while adapting to the changing world of the late empire. Their role combined ceremonial duties, protection of imperial leaders, and service as highly trained soldiers.

ROMBYZ003A - Imperial Guardsman with Red Chi Ro Shield captures one of these elite warriors carrying a shield decorated with the Christian Chi Rho symbol. The striking red shield, detailed equipment, and imposing stance create a figure that represents both military strength and religious change within the empire.

Perfect for collectors interested in late Roman history, this figure adds colour and historical significance to ancient military displays. Available from The Military Workshop, it provides a fascinating representation of the period when Rome entered a new chapter of its long history.
