SK-10 – Beothuk Warrior | John Jenkins Designs
The voyages of the Vikings to North America are described in the Norse sagas, which recount the experiences of Scandinavian explorers travelling to the lands they called Vinland.
These accounts describe encounters with Indigenous inhabitants referred to by the Norse as Skraelings.
According to John Jenkins Designs' historical notes, the term was used by Norse Greenlanders for peoples encountered in both Greenland and North America.
The manufacturer's Skraelings – The Beothuk collection recreates warriors inspired by these early encounters, featuring a variety of traditional weapons and distinctive clothing.
SK-10 – Beothuk Warrior by John Jenkins Designs portrays an Indigenous warrior advancing in a wolfskin covering.
The figure carries a medium-sized shield and a stone axe, representing a warrior prepared for close-quarter combat.
This miniature complements the other Beothuk warriors in the range, providing an additional figure for a display inspired by the Norse expeditions to North America.
Part of the John Jenkins Designs Conquest of America collection.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
