SS098 - Fedor von Bock
Throughout the early years of the Second World War, Germany's rapid military successes were directed by a number of experienced senior commanders whose careers stretched back to the Imperial German Army of the First World War. Among the most respected of these officers was Generalfeldmarschall Fedor von Bock, whose disciplined leadership played an important role in several of Germany's major campaigns during the opening years of the conflict.
Von Bock commanded Army Group North during the invasion of Poland in 1939 before leading Army Group B during the campaigns in the Low Countries and France in 1940. Perhaps his most significant appointment came during Operation Barbarossa, where he commanded Army Group Centre in the massive advance towards Moscow. Although early operations achieved spectacular territorial gains, increasing Soviet resistance, severe weather, and logistical difficulties eventually halted the offensive before the Soviet capital.
This figure captures Field Marshal von Bock in full uniform, reflecting the authority and professionalism expected of one of Germany's senior military commanders. The detailed sculpt makes it an ideal centrepiece for headquarters displays, staff conferences, or command dioramas depicting the strategic planning behind major operations.
Historical personalities bring an additional dimension to military collections, allowing collectors to represent the leadership responsible for directing some of the largest campaigns in modern history. Collectors visiting The Military Workshop will discover an extensive range of historical figures representing many of the notable commanders whose decisions influenced the course of the Second World War.
