SS118 - SS Cavalry Trooper
While tanks and armoured vehicles dominated many of the major battles of World War II, horses continued to play an essential role behind the scenes and on difficult terrain where motor vehicles struggled to operate. German cavalry formations combined traditional horsemanship with modern military tactics, undertaking reconnaissance, escort, and security duties throughout the conflict.
This SS cavalry trooper reflects the appearance of one of these mounted soldiers, whose responsibilities often included scouting ahead of advancing forces, protecting supply routes, and maintaining communications across wide operational areas. Their mobility and ability to travel through forests, marshes, and mountainous regions ensured cavalry retained military value well into the twentieth century.
Expertly sculpted with authentic field equipment and uniform details, the figure offers collectors something different from conventional infantry displays. It is ideally suited to mounted patrols, countryside scenes, or larger cavalry formations depicting the diverse nature of wartime operations.
Adding mounted troops introduces both historical interest and visual variety to a military collection. The Military Workshop is pleased to offer collectors military figures that showcase not only the famous weapons and battles of World War II but also the specialist units whose contributions are often overlooked.
