VIK-19A – Viking Warrior | John Jenkins Designs
During the Viking Age, Norse warriors employed several different battlefield formations, including the distinctive Svinfylking, an attacking formation designed to break through an opposing line of soldiers.
The Svinfylking, translated from Old Norse as "Swine Array" or "Boar Snout", was a wedge-shaped formation whose origins were traditionally attributed to the god Odin.
According to John Jenkins Designs, this formation was particularly effective when used against an enemy shield wall. Its strength lay in the concentrated force of its attack, although its exposed flanks made it vulnerable if the initial assault failed.
VIK-19A – Viking Warrior by John Jenkins Designs represents a Viking soldier charging forward as part of this distinctive attacking formation.
The figure captures the aggressive nature of Viking infantry combat and is designed to complement other Svinfylking warriors.
Part of the Age of Arthur – The Vikings collection, this miniature is an excellent addition to a Viking attacking force.
