WIS2-03N – 2nd Wisconsin

Throughout the American Civil War, the soldiers of the 2nd Wisconsin earned a reputation that far exceeded the size of their regiment. As members of the Iron Brigade, they consistently found themselves at the centre of the fiercest fighting, where discipline, determination and sacrifice became defining characteristics of the unit. Their aggressive actions during the opening stages of the Battle of Gettysburg helped delay Confederate forces long enough for the Union Army to establish its defensive positions, a contribution that would prove critical to the outcome of the campaign.

The regiment's battlefield record came at a tremendous cost, suffering some of the highest casualty rates of any Union formation. Despite these losses, the men of the 2nd Wisconsin never lost the fighting spirit that made the Iron Brigade famous throughout the North. Their courage continues to be studied and admired by Civil War historians and collectors alike.

Reflecting the quality that collectors expect from The Military Workshop, this beautifully crafted figure showcases crisp sculpting, historically accurate equipment and an impressive level of hand-painted detail. The realistic pose gives the miniature a strong sense of movement and purpose, making it equally suitable as a standalone display piece or as part of a larger Iron Brigade formation. It is a fitting tribute to one of the Union Army's most celebrated regiments.
