ACCPACK088 – Stone Podium with Two Slave Traders

Slavery was an integral and deeply exploitative part of many ancient societies, including Rome. People could be enslaved through warfare, birth, piracy, punishment or trade, and slave markets operated throughout the Roman world.

ACCPACK088 – Stone Podium with Two Slave Traders depicts the commercial setting associated with this harsh aspect of ancient life.

The stone podium provides an elevated focal point while the two traders help establish the purpose of the scene. Combined with appropriate civilian figures, it can form a powerful historical vignette away from the battlefield.

Available from The Military Workshop – a distinctive Thomas Gunn set portraying one of the darker realities of commerce and society in the ancient Roman world.
