GW082A – Kneeling German Machine Gunner

The German Army of the First World War made extensive use of machine guns, which became one of the defining weapons of the conflict. Their ability to deliver sustained, rapid fire gave even a small gun team tremendous defensive power and played a major role in the development of trench warfare on the Western Front.

GW082A – Kneeling German Machine Gunner depicts a German soldier positioned low to the ground while operating or supporting his machine gun. The kneeling pose gives the figure a natural battlefield appearance and makes him particularly effective when placed behind sandbags, earthworks or other defensive cover.

The figure works especially well as part of a German defensive position, surrounded by riflemen, ammunition carriers and other machine-gun crew figures to create a convincing section of the front line.

Available from The Military Workshop – a detailed Thomas Gunn figure ideal for adding firepower, action and atmosphere to a First World War German battlefield display.
