ROM096C - Weary Legionnaire Resting with Black 9th Legion Shield & 2 Pilum

Roman soldiers endured long marches, difficult campaigns, and harsh battlefield conditions across the empire. Behind every military victory were thousands of legionaries who faced exhaustion, injury, and the challenges of life on campaign.

The 9th Legion, Legio IX Hispana, remains one of Rome’s most intriguing military units, remembered for its service in Britain and its unexplained disappearance.

ROM096C - Weary Legionnaire Resting with Black 9th Legion Shield & 2 Pilum depicts a tired soldier taking a brief moment of rest while still carrying his weapons and equipment. The figure captures the human side of military service.

A thoughtful addition to Roman collections, this piece adds realism and emotion to displays. Available from The Military Workshop, ROM096C reminds collectors of the endurance required of Rome’s soldiers.
