32014 – Apache Warrior Standing Firing Carbine | W.Britain
Throughout the later nineteenth century, conflict continued between various Apache groups and United States forces across Arizona, New Mexico and the surrounding borderlands.
Apache warriors were particularly well suited to campaigning in this difficult country. Their mobility and knowledge of water sources, trails, mountains and canyons often allowed relatively small groups to travel quickly through areas that presented serious challenges to conventional military columns.
As firearms became increasingly available, rifles and carbines became an important part of frontier warfare alongside more traditional weapons.
W.Britain’s 32014 portrays an Apache warrior standing and firing his carbine. The active firing pose adds movement to a frontier battle scene and provides another excellent figure for collectors building the Apache side of the Dirty Shirt Blue – The U.S. Army in the Old West collection.
