32016 – Apache Warrior Standing Firing Carbine From Rock | W.Britain

The Apache Wars were fought across some of the harshest and most difficult terrain encountered by the United States Army during the nineteenth century. Mountains, rocky ridges, deep canyons and vast stretches of desert created an environment in which intimate knowledge of the landscape could provide a considerable advantage.

Apache warriors became renowned for their mobility and ability to move quickly through this country, often using the terrain itself for concealment and protection. By the later stages of the conflicts, firearms had become an important part of warfare throughout the region.

W.Britain’s 32016 depicts an Apache warrior standing and firing his carbine from behind a rocky position. The pose makes excellent use of the broken terrain associated with campaigning in Arizona and New Mexico and gives the figure a strong sense of action.

Combined with Geronimo and the other Apache figures in the Dirty Shirt Blue collection, this piece is ideal for creating a larger frontier skirmish or Apache Wars display.
