Australian fighter ace Clive Robertson Caldwell became one of the most successful fighter pilots produced by the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War.

Nicknamed “Killer” Caldwell, he achieved notable success flying in the Middle East and later commanded fighter operations closer to Australia against Japanese forces.

His wartime career saw him fly aircraft including the Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk and Kittyhawk and later the Supermarine Spitfire.
