Caradoc, better known historically as Caratacus, became one of the most famous British leaders to resist the Roman invasion that began in AD 43.

For several years he continued the struggle against Rome, eventually leading resistance in Wales before being defeated and handed over to the Romans. Taken to Rome as a prisoner, his dignified speech before Emperor Claudius reportedly impressed the Emperor sufficiently for his life to be spared.
