ROM013 – The Marching Legionary with “Marius' Mule”
Roman legionaries became famous for carrying a considerable amount of their own equipment on campaign. The reforms traditionally associated with Gaius Marius led to the nickname “Marius' Mules” for soldiers burdened with their marching kit.
ROM013 – The Marching Legionary with Marius' Mule portrays the Roman soldier as he often appeared on campaign rather than in battle – marching under the weight of his weapons and personal equipment.
It is an excellent figure for building a column travelling along a Roman road or approaching a new encampment.
Available from The Military Workshop – a superb King & Country marching legionary portraying the endurance and self-sufficiency expected of Rome's soldiers on campaign.
