RTA123 - Falling Mexican Lancer | King & Country
RTA123 portrays a dramatic moment involving a Mexican cavalryman during the Battle of the Alamo on 6 March 1836.
As General Santa Anna's infantry launched their assault on the Alamo, Mexican cavalry were positioned around the perimeter to intercept defenders attempting to escape from the old mission.
This mounted figure depicts a Mexican lancer being thrown from his horse after the animal is shot from beneath him by one of the fleeing Texian defenders.
The unusual action pose represents a casualty among the Mexican cavalry and provides a contrast to the charging and advancing horsemen featured elsewhere in the Remember the Alamo collection.
The model can be combined with other Mexican lancers, dragoons and infantry releases to create a more extensive scene representing the final stages of the battle.
It is particularly suited to collectors wishing to introduce a different element of action into their Alamo cavalry displays.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
