RTA144 - Mexican Lancer with Cavalry Pistol | King & Country

This mounted Mexican lancer represents a cavalryman serving in General Santa Anna's army during the Battle of the Alamo in March 1836.

During the final assault on the Alamo, Mexican cavalry were positioned outside the mission to prevent Texian defenders from escaping through the surrounding countryside.

The figure depicts a lancer who has already broken his lance during the fighting and is now drawing his cavalry pistol to engage another fleeing opponent.

This distinctive pose illustrates the use of different weapons by mounted soldiers during close combat and provides a variation from the traditional lance-armed cavalry figures within the collection.

The horseman can be displayed with other Mexican lancers, including the charging and sabre-wielding figures in the Remember the Alamo series.

Together, these releases allow collectors to create a varied mounted formation representing the Mexican cavalry surrounding the Alamo during the final battle.
