VN192(SE) - Bell Iroquois UH-1D "Slick" – 1/7th Air Cavalry | King & Country
This special edition Bell UH-1D Iroquois helicopter represents one of the most recognisable aircraft of the Vietnam War, the legendary Huey.
The UH-1D "Slick" was a lightly armed transport helicopter used extensively by American forces to move soldiers, equipment and supplies throughout South Vietnam.
Unlike dedicated helicopter gunships, the Slick was primarily designed for troop transport, relying upon crew-operated machine guns for defence while operating alongside more heavily armed aircraft.
This special edition model represents a helicopter belonging to the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, part of the famous 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile).
The division deployed to Vietnam in September 1965 and became closely associated with the widespread use of helicopters to provide rapid battlefield mobility.
The Bell UH-1 Iroquois played a central role in these operations, transporting troops into landing zones and supporting the movement of personnel across difficult terrain.
This particular release has been produced as a limited edition of just 300 models, making it a significant addition to the Vietnam War collection.
Each model is supplied with a complete four-man crew and comes packaged in a specially designed full-colour presentation box, together with an individually numbered certificate.
