RTA149 - Mexican Lancer Slashing with Sabre | King & Country
RTA149 depicts a mounted Mexican cavalryman engaged in close combat during the Battle of the Alamo on 6 March 1836.
The figure represents one of the Mexican horsemen positioned outside the mission during General Santa Anna's final assault.
As the fighting spread beyond the Alamo's walls, Mexican cavalry intercepted Texian defenders attempting to escape through the surrounding countryside.
This dramatic model portrays a lancer using his cavalry sabre, delivering a downward strike from horseback against an opponent.
The action pose provides a different weapon and fighting stance from the lance-armed and pistol-equipped cavalry figures in the Remember the Alamo collection.
RTA149 can be displayed alongside the charging lancer (RTA148), Mexican lancer trumpeter (RTA147) and other mounted releases to create a varied cavalry scene.
The figure adds another aspect of mounted combat to collections representing Santa Anna's army and the final fighting around the Alamo.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
