The Ludhiana Sikhs formed part of the proud tradition of Sikh service within the British Indian Army. Their history stretched back through numerous campaigns in which Indian regiments served throughout the Empire.

SOE018(M) – Ludhiana Piper depicts one of the regiment's musicians, bringing a ceremonial and musical element to a formation otherwise dominated by fighting soldiers.

A piper provides colour and character whether displayed on parade, accompanying marching troops or standing as part of a larger regimental gathering.
