SA001 – Horst Wessel

Horst Wessel was a member of the Nazi Party's Sturmabteilung (SA) who was killed in Berlin in 1930. After his death, Nazi propagandists deliberately transformed him into a political martyr and used his story extensively to promote the movement.

A song associated with Wessel was subsequently adopted as the Nazi Party anthem and became one of the regime's most prominent propaganda symbols.
