TRW058 – Taking a Fall

Mounted combat carried dangers beyond bullets and arrows. A horse stumbling, being wounded or colliding with another mount could send its rider violently to the ground in the middle of a battle.

TRW058 – Taking a Fall captures one of these dramatic moments, introducing the chaos and unpredictability of mounted frontier warfare.

Rather than depicting a rider posed neatly in the saddle, the set freezes the action at the instant things have gone badly wrong. It is particularly effective among charging cavalry and mounted warriors where it breaks up an otherwise orderly formation.
