Few names command greater recognition in U.S. Marine Corps history than Lewis “Chesty” Puller. A career Marine whose service stretched from the interwar “Banana Wars” through the Second World War and Korea, Puller became legendary for his battlefield leadership and uncompromising character.

During WWII he commanded Marines at Guadalcanal and Cape Gloucester, later serving as executive officer of the 1st Marine Regiment during the battle for Peleliu. His long career ultimately made him one of the most highly decorated Marines in American history.
