WH044 – Arnhem Ambush!

In September 1944, Operation Market Garden attempted to seize a series of bridges through the Netherlands and open a rapid Allied route into Germany. At Arnhem, British airborne troops encountered unexpectedly strong German resistance and became involved in a desperate battle for survival.

WH044 – Arnhem Ambush! captures the danger of the close-range fighting that characterised parts of the campaign, where soldiers and vehicles moving through Dutch streets and countryside could suddenly find themselves under attack.

The set provides the basis for a dramatic Market Garden vignette, particularly when combined with buildings, vehicles and opposing airborne troops.
