NM-28B – Norman Swordsman
On 14 October 1066, the fields near Hastings became the setting for a battle that would reshape England. William’s Norman army faced King Harold II’s Anglo-Saxon forces in a gruelling engagement that continued for much of the day.
NM-28B – Norman Swordsman represents one of William’s infantry warriors equipped for close combat. With sword in hand and shield for protection, he would have been most dangerous once the distance between the opposing battle lines had disappeared and the fighting became a personal contest of strength and skill.
The individual pose complements the other Norman swordsmen and spearmen in the John Jenkins range, allowing collectors to assemble a varied force rather than rows of identical figures.
Available from The Military Workshop – bringing the warriors, action and history of the Norman Conquest to life in miniature.
