The 74th (Highland) Regiment of Foot was among the British regiments that saw extensive service in India during the wars against the Kingdom of Mysore. Fighting alongside East India Company and Indian troops, the regiment participated in the demanding campaigns that eventually brought British forces into direct confrontation with Tipu Sultan.
