NKE-32N – Pharaoh's Guard | John Jenkins Designs

During the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt, the armies of the Pharaoh included soldiers recruited from neighbouring territories and foreign peoples. Among the most distinctive of these warriors were the Sherden, a group associated with the mysterious Sea Peoples.

According to the history presented by John Jenkins Designs, the Sherden were originally seafaring raiders who were defeated by Ramesses II during an attack upon Egypt's coastline in approximately 1278 BC.

Following their defeat, many Sherden warriors were incorporated into the Egyptian military, including the Pharaoh's personal bodyguard. They are mentioned in connection with the famous Battle of Kadesh in 1274 BC.

These warriors were distinguished by their horned bronze helmets, decorated with a raised central disc, and their leather armour reinforced with metal studs. Their weapons included long bronze swords and round wooden shields with bronze fittings.

NKE-32N – Pharaoh's Guard by John Jenkins Designs features four Sherden bodyguards, armed with swords and shields and captured in dramatic horizontal sword-swinging poses.

An excellent addition to the New Kingdom Egyptians collection, this set recreates the formidable appearance of the warriors entrusted with protecting the Pharaoh.
