TMGC6002A – German Army Cavalry Private with Submachine Gun, 1940–1941 | Team Miniatures
During the early years of the Second World War, the German Army continued to make extensive use of horses despite the growing importance of tanks, trucks and other motorised vehicles. Mounted troops remained especially valuable for reconnaissance, communications and rapid movement across terrain where vehicles could be restricted.
TMGC6002A depicts a German Army Cavalry Private from 1940–1941, armed with a submachine gun and mounted on a charging black horse. The figure captures the striking contrast between traditional mounted cavalry and the increasingly modern weaponry of the period.
German mounted formations took part in the early campaigns of the war, including operations in Poland, Western Europe and the opening stages of the campaign in the Soviet Union. Horses remained an essential part of German military operations, particularly in areas where speed, mobility and access over difficult ground were required.
Team Miniatures produces its historical figures in 1/30 scale, using metal construction and detailed hand-painted finishes, making this mounted cavalryman a particularly impressive addition to an early-war German collection or diorama.
