GG60-09 – 3rd Battalion, 60th King's Royal Rifle Corps (2-Piece Set)

March with the renowned 3rd Battalion, 60th King's Royal Rifle Corps during the Battle of Gingindlovu with GG60-09, a finely detailed two-piece set from The Anglo-Zulu War collection, available from The Military Workshop.

On 2 April 1879, British forces under Lord Chelmsford advanced to relieve the besieged garrison at Eshowe, where a determined force had been surrounded by Zulu warriors for over two months. Near the royal military settlement of Gingindlovu, the relief column was attacked by thousands of Zulu warriors in one of the decisive engagements of the Anglo-Zulu War.

The 3rd Battalion, 60th King's Royal Rifle Corps played a vital role in the battle. As one of Britain's distinguished rifle regiments, its soldiers were highly trained marksmen, renowned for their discipline, fieldcraft, and accurate rifle fire. Fighting from the defensive laager formed by wagons and entrenchments, the riflemen helped repel repeated Zulu assaults, contributing significantly to the British victory and the successful relief of Eshowe.

Expertly sculpted and beautifully hand-painted, this two-figure set captures the appearance and professionalism of these experienced riflemen. Armed with their Martini-Henry rifles and dressed in campaign uniform, they make an excellent addition to any Anglo-Zulu War display.
